With a ho hum round 1 score of 71 at Augusta on Thursday, Tiger roared back today with a 6 under par round of 66. Even more spectacular, was seeing glimpses of the Tiger of old hunting down his prey like the Tiger that he is.
49 players +1 or better will play the weekend at The Masters. Going home: are the likes of Kim, Mahan, Cink, O’Hair, Molinari, McDowell, Vegas, Harrington.
But still all in all, Tiger’s round today was phenomenal. Bogey’s at 1, 3, and 7 were totally offset by the 9…count em 9 birdies he had today. Take a look at the score card.

I don’t care who it is. In all of this man’s years of watching the Master’s I can’t remember anyone having 9 birdies on Friday, or any other day at the Master’s. Forget the bogey’s, 9 birdies and that tells me he is back or very close to it.
Knowing Tiger’s past abilities to light it up while under pressure, we are likely to see an even more solid round on Saturday. And if Tiger really is back, the tournament may already be over. Tiger now knows that he can make 9 birdies out their, and that my friends is a very very big confidence booster going into the weekend.
I am not saying that it has not been done before, I am saying that I don’t ever recall 9 birdies in a single round at the Master’s, and that is something to talk about. Take the 3 bogey’s away and he shoots 63 and that laps the field by 3.
Stay tuned for more and watch the master’s this weekend for sure, it is going to be a royal battle.
Until tomorrow’s post, hit em long, straight, and as few times as possible on the golf course. Happy Golfing and Have a Great Day.
